Introduction

A front-end developer is a person who designs and codes web pages. They are responsible for the display of content to users and typically work closely with designers. Front-end developers may also be responsible for back-end development, but this is rare.

In the article, I will talk about the front-end developer resume. I will explain all about the roadmap of the front-end developer.

What is the Web?

Front-end Developer ResumeThe World Wide Web (WWW) was invented by Tim Berners-Lee in 1989. He originally called it the “World Wide Web” but has since updated the name to “the web.” The first website was built in 1991.

The Web is a system of interlinked hypertext copies accessed via the Internet. It consists of millions of individual web pages (or “documents”) and other resources, such as images, sounds, and videos.

Web browsers are examples of clients; they allow users to view content such as text and images on the web page they are considering. Web servers provide content to these browsers in response to their requests.

Clients are any devices that permit the user to connect to the Internet. Clients and servers deal with many web-related items.

DNS

DNS is a protocol that decodes domain names into IP addresses. It is one of the essential protocols on the Internet, and it’s used by all computers and mobile devices to connect to websites.

HTTP

The HTTP protocol is how browsers request and receive webpages from servers. It is an application layer protocol that defines methods for transferring data between a client (browser) and server, such as requests and responses, including metadata about these interactions.

TCP/IP

The Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) is a set of rules for sending data packets over a network. It is the protocol used for the Internet and most other computer networks.

In order for two computers to speak to each other, they need to have some way of understanding what the other one is saying. The TCP/IP protocol provides a dictionary that tells one computer how to translate into words what it hears from the other.

The TCP/IP protocol suite is made up of four layers:

  1. 1The Physical Layer
  2. 2The Link Layer
  3. 3The Internet Layer
  4. 4The Application Layer

Front-end developer resume

The front end is two major types.

Front-end interface developers

Front-end developers are responsible for the visual design of an application or website and ensuring that it is easy to use. They are also accountable for ensuring that the site is responsive and works with different browsers, platforms, and devices.

Front-end developers might specialize in a particular area, such as interaction design, information architecture, or user interface design.

Front-end engineers

Front-end engineers are the backbone of any website. They are responsible for ensuring that the website looks good, functions well, and is user-friendly. They use programming languages like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create the website.

There are many opportunities for front-end engineers in this field. It is a fast-growing industry with many new jobs opening up every year. There are also plenty of jobs available for those who want to freelance or start their own business as a front-end engineer.

User experience design

User experience design is a process of designing and developing products that provide positive user experiences. It is a holistic process that requires the involvement of designers, developers, and testers in order to create excellent digital products.

The term “user experience” was coined by Don Norman in 1993 to describe how a person feels about using a product. He defines it as “the sum of all the exchanges between the user and the product.”

User experience design is not just about making things look pretty or creating an easy-to-navigate interface. It’s about understanding how people interact with your product. What they think when they use it, what emotions they feel, what goals they have when interacting with your website or app, etc.

Web development for beginners

Web development is the procedure of designing and building websites. It can be a lucrative career choice, but it requires significant training.

Web development has been around since the 1990s, but it has become more prevalent in recent years because the Internet is now so ubiquitous.

There are multiple ways to learn web development, and there are other paths you can take in your career. One of the most popular options is to learn through online courses and tutorials, which you can find on sites like Udemy or Treehouse.

A more intensive option is to attend a coding boot camp or university program that offers web development courses. These programs provide intensive training for those who want to get into web development quickly and start making money as soon as possible.

What is front-end development?

Front-end development is designing and building a website’s user interface.Front-end development includes everything from coding to debugging to testing. The front-end developer must be familiar with various programming languages like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

This is because these languages are used for the site’s visual design and for manipulating its content. Front-end developers are also responsible for ensuring that all of the site’s elements are accessible to those using assistive technology such as screen readers or braille displays.

Front-end Skills needed

A front-end developer is a software developer who specializes in web development. Front-end developers typically focus on the user interface, experience and visual design of a website.Front-end skills needed:

HTML5

Introduction To HTML5HTML5 is the latest version of HTML. It is the fifth revision of the HTML standard and was published in October 2014 by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).The main goal of HTML5 was to unify various previously competing standards.

This made it possible for web developers to use one set of tools to create web content that would work on any browser, anywhere in the world.

Benefits of Using HTML5

HTML5 offers many new features, including:

– video without plugins- audio without plugins- better support for touchscreens- offline storage- geolocation API

CSS3

Cascading Style SheetsCSS3 is a style sheet language that controls web pages’ look and formatting. It is a successor to CSS2, the first version of CSS to gain widespread popularity.

The two main features of CSS3 are support for multiple backgrounds and animations. Multiple backgrounds allow an element to have more than one background image, each defined in its own style sheet. Animations enable designers to create interactive effects on web pages, such as moving content in from one side or fading it out on mouse-over.

JavaScript

JavaScriptJavaScript is a programming language that is used to create interactive websites.JavaScript has been around for decades, but it has become more prevalent in recent years.

JavaScript was first introduced in 1995, and it was initially designed to make web pages come alive. The code could be embedded into HTML so that the page could provide a richer experience for users when they interact with it.

Today, JavaScript is used by most of the world’s biggest websites – including Google and Facebook – as well as significant apps like WhatsApp and Skype.

The popularity of JavaScript has grown because it is easy to learn and use and because there are now many libraries available with pre-built functions which can be used without any programming knowledge whatsoever.

JavaScript can be seen on sites worldwide- from small businesses to multi-national corporations – but it’s prevalent in Silicon Valley, where many startups use JavaScript for their website or app development projects.

Sass

Syntactically Awesome Style Sheets (SASS) is a style sheet language created to address CSS problems. SASS is an extension of CSS3, a language describing how style and formatting should be applied to HTML documents.

The syntax of SASS allows for variables, functions, mixins, inheritance, and many other features that make it more efficient than CSS. SASS also provides for the use of code comments to help explain the code or point out important features.

LeSS: Leaner Style Sheets

The Leaner Style Sheets (LeSS) is a method for writing CSS. It was created to help developers create more maintainable and scalable CSS code.

CSS Frameworks

CSS frameworks are the most popular and widely used tools for web design. These frameworks help designers and developers create websites quickly and efficiently by providing tools, templates, and code snippets.

The Frameworks like Bootstrap, Foundation, Semantic UI, Skeleton, etc., are the most popular among them. These frameworks supply a set of CSS classes that can be used to design different website elements like buttons, forms, etc.

CSS Frameworks are essential because they help in designing and make it easier for developers to write code.

Bootstrap

Bootstrap is a free, open-source front-end web development framework that uses HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.Mark Otto and Jacob Thornton created bootstrap at Twitter in 2011. It is the most popular front-end framework for developing responsive, mobile-first projects on the Web.

It is designed to help developers quickly build a project’s front end, giving a consistent look across all browsers, devices, screen sizes, and more.

Semantic UI

  • Support for Sass (SCSS) or Less

Spectre

Spectre is a lightweight and responsive CSS framework that is built on top of Sass. It’s designed to be used as a starting topic for any new project, and aims to provide a solid set of defaults and best practices for building websites without spending time on configuration.

JavaScript Frameworks

JavaScript frameworks are an essential part of web development. They help developers create interactive and dynamic web content.

The popularity of JavaScript frameworks is on the rise. There are many JavaScript frameworks available in the market, but not all of them are equally good. Developers should choose a framework based on their requirements and needs.

Angular Framework

Angular FrameworkAngular is a free, open-source JavaScript web application framework created by Google and maintained by a community of individual developers and corporations to handle many of the challenges encountered in developing single-page applications.

It was developed in 2009 by Google employee Misko Hevery with a team of fellow engineers.Angular provides an extra layer on top of the browser’s DOM, which allows developers to extend HTML vocabulary for their application’s components using new attributes.

These custom elements then become part of the view (templates) that are compiled into Angular code and linked to the rest of the application. The Angular framework also provides services, two-way data binding, dependency injection, and end-to-end tooling and supports both TypeScript or JavaScript programming languages.

React Framework

React is a JavaScript library for building user interfaces. It is maintained by Facebook and Instagram. React implements a one-way reactive data flow, making it easy to reason about the data flow in your application.

The library was developed as an alternative to AngularJS and EmberJS, which were slower at the time when React was first introduced in 2013.

The library also provides a way to build interactive UIs with reusable UI components that are rendered on the server side and are then sent back to the client as static HTML markup or JSON via Ajax calls.

This allows users to interact with their app without having a fully loaded page from their web server on every request, resulting in better performance for your app or website.

Vue.js Framework

Vue.js is a JavaScript library for building interactive web interfaces. It’s a progressive framework that can be employed on the client and server sides to deliver robust, lightweight experiences.

It is an open-source project that provides simple and intuitive API, making it easy to learn and use. Vue.js has many features that allow developers to create powerful apps with a minimum codebase.

Vue is the fastest-growing JavaScript framework, with over 400k stars on GitHub in less than three years since its inception in 2014.

Ember.js Framework

Ember.js is a JavaScript framework for developing web applications with an object-oriented approach and clean syntax.

Ember provides developers the tools they need to build robust, responsive interfaces that provide high-quality user experiences without being too demanding on browsers or device resources.

The Ember team has been hard at work developing new features and enhancements to make Ember even more helpful in the modern world of web development.

The latest release of Ember includes improved performance by reducing the number of DOM nodes created per component instance, as well as other improvements in performance, accessibility, and developer experience.

Meteor Framework

Meteor is a popular open-source platform for Web and mobile app development. It has a lot of benefits over other frameworks, like AngularJS and ReactJS, because it is more efficient.

Meteor Framework is a new JavaScript framework that lets developers build real-time web applications. Meteor has a package manager called Atmosphere, making installing packages from the Meteor website or other sources easier.

Node.js Framework

Node.js is a cross-platform, open-source JavaScript runtime environment that executes JavaScript code outside of the browser.

It is often used to build highly scalable server-side applications. Node.js’s package ecosystem, npm, contains more than half a million packages, making it the most extensive ecosystem out there and still growing.

jQuery Framework

jQuery is a JavaScript library that facilitates HTML document traversing, event handling, and animation.

The jQuery library is designed to make JavaScript programming easier for the beginner. It provides an intuitive interface for manipulating the DOM (Document Object Model) and adding behavior to HTML elements.

In 2006, John Resig wrote the jQuery library to ease cross-browser compatibility issues in JavaScript programming. The library was initially called “Sizzle” but was renamed “jQuery” because of a trademark issue with Sizzle Inc.

Version Control System

Version control systems are software tools for controlling file changes and coordinating work on those files among multiple people.

Version control systems maintain track of every change made to a file and allow users to view the differences between two versions of the same file.

Version control systems store different versions of a set of data, typically a computer program’s source code, in one place so that other people can work on their copies while keeping track of what they have done.

GitHub

GitHub is a website that offers software developers a wide range of features, from managing projects to collaborating on code. It is an open-source platform that is used by programmers and developers to host their code as well as manage issues and bugs.

The site was founded in 2008 by Tom Preston-Werner, Chris Wanstrath, PJ Hyett and Scott Chacon and it was originally designed to help programmers share their projects with others. Today, the company has over 27 million people using its services.

Micro-Frontend

Micro-Frontend is a new methodology for designing, developing, and deploying front-end applications. It relies on best practices that allow developers to create fast and responsive web apps without needing a framework.

The Micro-Frontend methodology was created to solve the problem of front-end development in large teams. The idea is to divide the work into small chunks and assign them to individual developers.

This way, each developer can focus on one part of the process, and there would be less time wasted waiting for other developers’ work.

Micro-Frontend is limited to front-end development and applies to other aspects like design, marketing, content creation, etc.

Web Security Communication Protocols

Web security is a massive concern for most websites. With hackers and cybercriminals lurking in the shadows, it’s no wonder it’s such a big concern.

However, many companies must take their web security seriously and follow best practices.

Communication Protocols

Communication protocols are a set of rules and conventions that govern the exchange of messages between computers. They are designed to allow different types of computer systems to communicate with each other.

The most common communication protocol is the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP), which is used for data transmission on the Internet. TCP ensures that data packets are recovered and delivered in order, and it guarantees that packets arrive at their destination promptly.

Web Security

Web Security

Internet Protocol Security

Internet Protocol Security (IPSec) is a protocol suite that provides authentication and encryption for data sent over an IP-based network.

The Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) developed the protocol suite to protect data from eavesdropping, tampering, or message forgery. It provides security by encrypting the data sent over a public network and authenticating the sender to the recipient.

IPSec uses two main protocols: Authentication Header (AH) and Encapsulating Security Payload (ESP). ESP can be used in three modes: transport mode, tunnel mode, or combination mode.

Internet Key Exchange

Internet Key Exchange (IKE) is a protocol that provides a secure means of establishing a virtual private network (VPN) between two nodes.

The IKE protocol is an Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) standard; the first version was published in 1996. The IKE protocol uses UDP port 500 and runs on any IPv4 network.

It is commonly used to establish IPsec connections between two nodes in an IPsec VPN. It can also be used as part of other services such as NAT traversal for VoIP or remote access to services such as SSH or Telnet.

Secure Shell

The Secure Shell protocol was created in 1995 by Tatu Ylonen. The protocol was designed to replace the older Telnet and Rlogin protocols, which needed to be more secure.

To use the Secure Shell protocol, you need two pieces of software: an SSH client and an SSH server.

The SSH client encrypts data and sends it to the server over an encrypted channel, while the server decrypts the data received from the client before sending it on to its destination on the network.

Secure Socket Layer

Secure Socket Layer (SSL) is a cryptographic protocol that provides security for data transmission over the Internet. It can encrypt data and also check the integrity of messages.

The SSL protocol is widely used on the Internet to provide security for web-based communications, such as those involving e-commerce, banking, and other transactions.

Secure Embedded Web Server

Secure Embedded Web Server is a software that provides security for embedded devices. It’s an open-source web server that can serve web pages securely and authenticate users.

The Secure Embedded Web Server is designed to be small and lightweight to run on any system with minimal resources. It’s also designed to be easy to configure, so anyone with basic UNIX skills can set it up in a few minutes.

Secure Embedded Web Server HTTPS

The next step in securing your website is switching to HTTPS. HTTPS provides a secure connection between your browser and the server. This means that no one can intercept your data, such as passwords and credit card information, while it’s being transmitted.

In order to switch to HTTPS, you need to get an SSL certificate. The SSL certificate will allow browsers to recognize the site as being secure, which will result in a green padlock on the URL bar of the browser window.

Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service

RADIUS is a protocol that allows a computer to authenticate with a server. It is one of the most important protocols in the field of information security.

Transport Layer Security

Transport Layer Security (TLS) is a set of protocols that provides communications security over a computer network. TLS comprises two layers of protocols: the TLS record protocol and the TLS handshake protocol.

TLS was designed by Netscape and is based on SSL 3.0, which was originally designed by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). The design goal of the protocol was to provide privacy and data integrity between two communicating computer applications.

Secure Electronic Transaction

There are many ways to secure electronic transactions. One is using the Secure Electronic Transaction (SET) protocol. SET has two steps which are authentication and payment authorization.

SET is a protocol used for secure transactions over the Internet or other networks. The protocol was initially developed to replace the traditional credit card system of payments. Still, it can also be used for other financial transactions, such as debit cards, ATM withdrawals, and wire transfers.

The SET protocol provides several benefits over the traditional credit card system:

  • It provides more security for both merchants and customers since it does not store any sensitive information on the merchant’s computer.
  •  It protects against unauthorized use because all data transmission between computers in a transaction must be encrypted.
  • It allows merchants to create customized offers that can be transmitted to customers via email or fax.

Privacy Enhanced Mail

Privacy Enhanced Mail (PEM) is a cryptographic protocol for encrypting and signing email messages. It was developed in the 1980s by Phil Zimmermann, creator of the popular encryption program PGP.

The protocol was initially developed to provide strong privacy protection for email correspondence. Still, it has since been expanded to include features such as message integrity checks, digital signatures, and key management.
